On that long dark night in an unfamiliar stable

A baby was born, and placed in a cradle

A manger of hay with a young mother’s care

A night like none other, our Lord was now here.

God promised He’d come in a way none would know

With Joseph and Mary, they welcomed God’s Son.

It began that night, in a manger of love

Where angels attended and light from above

A song was sung by a Heavenly Choir

Joy to the World, the Lord has now come

Peace on earth, good will for all

God’s heart was singing a new song of love.

Father God loves you, He’s shown it again and again,

He sent His Son, to be born within

To the Cross He would go, taking our sin

He died, and was buried, and He rose again

It began that night so long ago

And continues today, He continues to show

There’s reason for living, a new song to sing

Peace and joy, a message of Hope

Jesus remains the Gift of God’s love.
